About Tessa
I am so glad you are here.
My philosophy as a therapist is to continually strive to collaborate with clients in order to promote healing with the use of a strengths-based perspective and some humor :). I firmly believe that all folks are deserving of therapy and everyone has the ability to heal. Together, we will address healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
I primarily see folks 18 years and older. I specialize in working in the fields of peri and postpartum, couples/expansive relationships, chronic illness, and gender/sexuality. My practice is gender, sexuality, and kink affirming. I center safety, holding space, and healing in my practice.
Experience
I have 9 years experience working in the field with diverse populations and varying needs. I graduated from Widener University with my Master in Social Work and Master of Education in Human Sexuality. I started my social work career as an HIV Youth Case Manager before moving into private practice. In 2021, I obtained my PhD in Human Sexuality Studies. I recently completed EMDR training and am currently working toward certification. I value the importance of ongoing education so I am continually challenging myself to broaden my therapeutic toolbox.
